The Dental Floss Life Hack That Will Change Your Kitchen Forever
Published Thursday, May 13, 2021
We all have some dental floss in our homes, right? According to statistics, a lot of us don’t floss our teeth daily, but that’s not the point of this article.
Instead, I’m going to show you a very cool use for dental floss that will change things in your kitchen… here we go:
You can use dental floss to slice cheese. And it works brilliantly!
Let’s talk about cutting cheese (literally, not figuratively, for the third graders amongst you!) Most cheeses are not easy to cut. You can use a knife, but the knife gets gummed up pretty quickly, and is hard to clean. Plus, some cheeses are an odd shape, and depending on the size of your knife, might not be all that easy to cut.
But using dental floss makes short work of almost any cheese – even hard cheeses are cut pretty easily with dental floss. There are a few upsides here:
- As I mentioned, you can make the dental floss almost any size, making it easy to cut odd shaped cheeses.
- No cleanup – just throw away the floss. No washing an expensive knife that’s all cheesed up.
- You don’t need a cheese cutter that can’t do anything else. Seriously, the fewer “use it once a month for only one thing” appliances you have, the better.
There you go – some excellent advantages to using dental floss to cut cheese. If you don’t already own some type of fancy wire cheese cutter, that’s fine – just put some dental floss in the kitchen, and you’re all set.
